About Mandy
Hi, I'm Mandy, the heart behind Sassy Paws Photography.
Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has shaped both my life and my career.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working as a veterinary nurse, spending more than 18 years microchipping thousands of pets, running an animal rescue organisation for over 11 years, and, for the past 7 years, capturing the beautiful connection between pets and the people who love them through photography.
Each chapter has taught me something different, but together they've given me a unique understanding of animals and the extraordinary bond they share with the people who love them.
My experience has taught me how to photograph pets. My years in rescue taught me how to understand them.
I've met the confident ones, the shy ones, the cheeky ones, the nervous rescue pets, the energetic puppies, the curious kittens, and the gentle old souls who have shared a lifetime with their families.
Every one of them has reminded me that no two animals are the same. Some need space. Some need reassurance. Some need time before they'll trust someone new. And that's perfectly okay.
I believe the most beautiful photographs happen when pets feel safe enough to simply be themselves.
That means no rushing. No unrealistic expectations. No pressure for perfection. Just patience, understanding and allowing your pet's unique personality to shine.
During my years in rescue, I experienced some of life's happiest moments as families welcomed a new companion, and some of its most heartbreaking as they said goodbye to a beloved friend. Those experiences taught me just how deep the bond between people and their pets can be, and how precious the memories we create together truly are.
That's why Sassy Paws was born.
Not simply to create beautiful photographs... But to preserve the stories, personalities and connections that make every pet so deeply loved.
Today, Sassy Paws offers studio sessions, in-home photography, and outdoor location sessions, along with custom artwork, keepsakes and memorial tributes. Every experience is created with patience, compassion and genuine respect for the bond you share with your pet.
The name Sassy Paws was inspired by Sassy, a beautiful rescue kitten who completely captured my heart and reminded me just how profoundly animals can change our lives. Her memory continues to inspire everything I do.
Whether you're welcoming a mischievous new puppy, celebrating a lifelong companion, creating artwork for your home, or preserving precious memories with a senior pet, it would be my privilege to help tell your story.
Because they're never "just pets."
They're family.
Photographing the love, connection and stories shared between
pets and the people who adore them.

Meet Sassy
Sassy was a rescue kitten who captured my heart and inspired the name Sassy Paws.
True to her name, she had plenty of personality and a very special place in my life.
I was blessed to share 16 wonderful years with my Sassy girl, and I still miss her every day.
Like so many of the animals who come into our lives, she left a lasting paw print on my heart.
Her memory reminds me every day why preserving the moments we share with our pets matters so much.
